RETURN POLICY
It's very important to us that you are happy with every purchase you make with Avid Aviator . We want you to come back! If you are not happy with a purchase, please let us know.

We MUST be contacted, preferably by email ( returns@avidaviator.com ) or by telephone at 803-794-3215, before anything is returned — for any reason. We will issue a R eturned M erchandise A uthorization Number ( RMA number) that must accompany the returned item.

We will assist you in getting an RMA number in those instances where the item must be returned directly to the manufacturer or distributor. It is very important to you that we do this because we have charged your credit card, not the other guy. If you are due a credit it has to come from us. If we are not involved in the return you will not get your credit if any is due.

Do not return anything that was damaged in shipment. It is the shipper's responsibility to replace or correct any shipment damage.

Return policies for our products match our various manufacturers and/or distributors' policies for returned merchandise. Of course, any defective item is returnable within 30 days of your receipt.

GENERAL RULES FOR ITEMS RETURNED TO US:

  • An unopened item (shrink-wrap or security tape, if applicable, still intact) may be returned to us within 30 days of receipt for refund of item cost less a 15% restocking fee . Shipping costs will not be refunded.

  • An opened item that is defective may be exchanged for a replacement copy of the same item at no charge if returned within 30 days of receipt.

  • An opened item that is not defective may be returned only if the manufacturer or distributor will accept a return from us. They may charge a restocking fee. We will charge a restocking fee of 20%.

  • Publishers of aviation software , and that includes simulators, test preparation, flight planners, etc., are very reluctant to take back and most often will refuse to take back a product that has been opened. The general rule in the software industry is if you break the shrink-wrap it's yours forever and ever. However, if the product is defective they will replace it with another copy of the same item.

  • Books may be returned within 15 days if they are in pristine resalable condition . Restocking fees will apply

  • Videos may not be returned unless they are defective. Videos may only be returned for a copy of the same video. No refunds or credit will be permitted.

Please get an RMA number from us before shipping any item. We prefer requests for RMAs to be in writing, either email or by faxing us at 803-794-3215. RMAs will be issued by email.
We will refuse any shipment that does not have an RMA number on the label.
